Hi Dr. Kade
On behalf of Dr. Flowers and our entire medical center, it is completely invaluable to have you, as a representative from DCFS at our quarterly SCAN meetings. As you know, we have had some significant abuse cases here in spite of our medical center size. We identify approximately 30-40 cases each quarter just from our hospital. I don’t think our physicians, social workers or staff would be as effective in identifying high risk cases without an expert such as you.
We appreciate your efforts and collaboration. Enjoy your spring!

On behalf of the Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect Committee (SCAN) at Kaiser Permanente Panorama City, we are writing to thank you for allowing Dr. Kade to participate on our committee. His dedicated service, collaboration, and expertise has assisted us in improving our effectiveness with our most vulnerable patients. Our ongoing success depends upon the cooperation and participation of our community partners such as the Department of Children and Family Services.
With Tony’s help and recommendations, we have developed a better program that will prepare our physicians, social workers, and clinical staff to assess and appropriately refer these at-risk patients. We plan to make other program improvements resulting from his suggestions.
Please accept our sincere appreciation and thanks. We ask that you continue to share the generosity of your time and wisdom with our committee. Our committee will continue to meet quarterly throughout 2013, with meetings scheduled for July and October (1 hour each).
